Due to covid restrictions, things will be a little different from what we are used to. As expected, face coverings are required in all common areas of the salon (lobby and hallways)
You may NOT enter the salon until Annalisa is ready for you. Please text (530)558-1061 from your vehicle and wait for a response before entering Phenix.
Studio doors are to remain closed. Please come straight into Wanderlust Wax Studio, suite 121, once you have received the text that it is okay to enter the salon. Totally opposite of what you are used to, I know. It is okay to open my door now as long as you received the 'okay to enter' text!
The studio will be operating on later, more limited hours. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we get through these unforeseen times. Can't wait to see all of you again!
LATE- A 10 minute grace period will be honored if you are running behind but please reach out by text (530)558-1061 as soon as you know you'll be behind. While I will always do my best to accommodate appointments, please understand IF MY BOOKS ARE FULL AND YOU ARE NOT IN MY SUITE WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF YOUR APPOINTMENT, YOUR APPOINTMENT IS NO LONGER GUARANTEED. There may be times I fall behind as well, I apologize in advance if this ever happens! Please know, your appointment will not be canceled if I am behind,
REFUNDS- To help save money, I offer packages. Please be sure that you are committed to your decision to wax as I do not offer refunds.
TOUCH UPS- I do everything in my power to make sure that every wax is perfect, every time; but sometimes, make mistakes and miss a hair or two. Please don't be shy to contact me if this happens. I will gladly schedule you for a touch up appointment if you contact me within 5 days of your appointment.
SANITATION- I adhere to all of the regulations set out by California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology. The wax table will be disinfected after each client, tables, chairs, doorknobs, and other commonly shared surfaces are wiped down with disinfectant after each client.
THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GET WAXED
Q: How long should my hair be for my wax?
A: Generally, 1/4" or longer. A grain of rice is 1/4"
Q: What if I am on my period?
A: That is totally okay, but you must come wearing a clean tampon or Deva Cup.
Q: How do I prepare?
A: Grow the hair 1/4", stay hydrated, exfoliate, and breathe.
Q: What should I avoid post-wax?
A: Absolutely no tanning for 24 hours after.
No swimming or hot tubs.
Avoid anything that will cause friction in waxed area.
No exfoliating for at least 3-4 days, sometimes longer.
Avoid excessive sweating.
Q: How long does a Brazilian wax last?
A: Most often people see a 3-4 week result but it does vary.
Q: What do I do after my wax?
A: Use witch hazel and Bush Balm after every shower and exfoliate 1-2 times a week.
Q: Will it hurt?
A: Yes, but not as bad as you might expect. Take Advil 30-40 minutes before if you're scared.
Q: What do I do if I get an ingrown hair?
A: If you can almost get the hair but it is trapped under a layer of dead skin, exfoliate until it comes out, moisturizing after EVERY exfoliation. If the area is inflamed, raised, and/or hurts, use a hot compress on the area, gently knead the bump to break up fluids. Do NOT squeeze or force the fluid or hair out. Repeat compress until bump clears up, use witch hazel and Bush Balm after every hot compress effort.
